Estonian industrial service provider sets up shop in Kiel
Digital solutions for the maritime industry – that is the core business of Estonian Insta Globe Engineering OÜ. The internationally recognized industrial service provider for electrotechnical installations and commissioning in shipbuilding as well as in mechanical and plant engineering founded Insta Globe Engineering Deutschland GmbH in Schleswig-Holstein at the beginning of 2021. From here, digital solutions are developed and implemented for clients in the maritime industry.
Welcome to the true north! Two questions to welcome managing director Ivo Pukk:
WTSH Online Editor: Mr Pukk, what was it about Schleswig-Holstein as a location that convinced you?
Pukk: When choosing the location for our German branch, Schleswig-Holstein with its close transport and cultural links to Estonia was definitely an important criterion. In addition, we were won over by the good infrastructure for developing further target markets throughout Europe, including the entire Baltic Sea region and Scandinavia. Above all, the proximity to the shipyards in northern Germany was decisive. From our new location in Kiel, we can look after our German business partners and clients in the shipbuilding sector much better and optimally expand our market share.
WTSH Online Editor: Schleswig-Holstein is developing into a preferred address for technology companies from the Baltic States, especially those with an IT or digitization background. In your opinion, what are the reasons for this?
Pukk: In this context, the active cluster landscape in Schleswig-Holstein should certainly be mentioned as a further benefit. The fact that the industry clusters that are relevant to us are all bundled and networked under one roof at WTSH makes things easier for us – including when we look for interesting cooperation partners to further develop our international activities.
WTSH Online Editor: Thank you very much, Mr Pukk! We wish you a good start at the new location!
Insta Globe Engineering's successful establishment in Schleswig-Holstein came about through the intensive cooperation between the WTSH settlement consultancy team and the industry clusters Maritime Economy Schleswig-Holstein and Digital Economy Schleswig-Holstein (DiWiSH). The first contact was made in July 2020 via the Enterprise Europe Network (EEN), which is also located at WTSH.
The interview was conducted by Ute Leinigen.
